An incident of workplace violence could have lifelong consequences for employees and their families. Human Resource Management offers Workplace Violence Prevention Training for all employees. Participation in this training is mandated for all public employees under NYS Labor Law §27b. NYS Labor Law §27b also mandates that all public employees participate in annual workplace violence prevention training. Employees must complete the web-based workplace violence prevention training.
Faculty and Staff should log into the system following the instructions below:
- Visit BizLibrary (http://buffalostate.bizlibrary.com), which will bring you to a Microsoft page.
- The Buffalo State log-in page will appear. Enter your campus username and password.
- When you log in, at the very top of the page, you will see, “My Assignments.”
- Click the “Workplace Violence Prevention Training ” icon. This will take you to the learning initiative. There are two stages to this training. Please complete the stages. Once you have completed the stages, you will have completed the trainings.
- To view/print your certificates, go back to the Home page in BizLibrary. Select “My Learning” using the drop box at the top of the left hand side of the screen. Select “Transcripts” to view your certificates.

Training topics covered include recognizing warning signs for potential violence, assessing risk in various work settings, what to do and what not to do if presented with a violent situation, and campus resources available to prevent violence.
